MEIG MASTER OF ADVANCED STUDIES EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL GOVERNANCE MEIG Partnerships

I wanted to challenge myself, learn, and move out of my comfort zone.

Ms. Guliko Kurdgelashvili, MEIG Graduate 2024-2025, Georgia

Before entering the MEIG Programme, I was a whirlwind of emotions – interest, excitement, and even some self-doubt. I had always wished to expand my understanding of governance at the European and international levels, but stepping into such an esteemed programme in Geneva was a large leap. I wondered: Could I hold my own? How would I fit into a class of top brains from all over the world? For all these doubts, I wanted to challenge myself, learn, and move out of my comfort zone.

As the programme began, those initial doubts gradually melted into motivation and purpose. Day one, MEIG immersed me in an interesting world where practice collides with theory. The professors, who had firsthand experience in international organizations, brought the subjects to life in ways that I hadn’t anticipated. But what affected me most were my classmates—their diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences created a rich, vibrant learning atmosphere. I not only learned facts but also learned from every discussion, group task, and argument. The programme was challenging, I’m certain, but it hardened me, made me more adaptable, and instilled confidence in my abilities.
