I feel well equipped to contribute to impactful initiatives that address complex global challenges

Ms. Lisseth Abigaid Lipa Cano, MEIG Graduate 2025-2026, Peru

Coming with professional experience at the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Australian Embassy, the #MEIGProgramme offered an opportunity to re-engage with today’s most pressing global challenges.

Through its multidisciplinary modules, covering, among other topics, the architecture of the #EuropeanUnion, public-private partnerships, #climatechange, #humanrights and #migration, the programme provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities shaping the global agenda. What made this experience valuable was the opportunity to exchange with academic experts and practitioners from diverse countries and sectors, enriching discussions with both theoretical insights and practical perspectives.

Being based in Geneva, widely recognized as a global hub for #diplomacy, added a special dimension to the programme. Participating in major forums such as Building Bridges, Geneva Peace Week, and engagements linked to the World Economic Forum allowed me to connect directly with ongoing international dialogues. In addition, study visits to the European Commission, European Parliament and the European External Action Service in Brussels offered exposure to key institutional frameworks and decision-making processes.

This experience has strengthened both my global outlook and my professional commitment. I feel well equipped to contribute to impactful initiatives that address complex global challenges and foster meaningful international cooperation.
