Elisabet Ruiz Cairó– MEIG Coordinator
Elisabet Ruiz Cairó is coordinator of the Master of Advanced Studies in European and International Governance (MEIG Programme).
She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Geneva (2021), an LL.M. in European Union Law from the College of Europe (2014) and a Bachelor in Law and Business Administration from the Autónoma University of Madrid (2013). She was admitted to the Bar in Madrid in 2013. Prior to joining the MEIG programme, Elisabet Ruiz Cairó worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Geneva (2015-2021) and the College of Europe (2014-2015) and as a trainee lawyer in two Spanish law firms (Garrigues and Uría Menéndez, 2012 and 2013).
Her research fields include European Union law, EU and global health law, EU trade policy and EU external relations. A monograph based on her PhD thesis, entitled ‘The Promotion of Public Health in EU External Relations’, was published in the Series “Studies in European Law /Dossiers de droit européen” edited by Schulthess in 2021. Elisabet Ruiz Cairó has held conferences at Erasmus University Rotterdam and at the Central and Eastern European Law Institute (CEELI Institute). She is a member of the European Society of International Law (ESIL), the Société suisse de droit international (SSDI-SVIR), the Asociación española de profesores de derecho internacional y relaciones internacionales (AEPDIRI) and the Asociación española para el estudio del derecho europeo (AEDEUR).
